Hospital Indemnity

Process Outline

The College offers Hospital Indemnity Insurance through Unum.  This plan pays a cash benefit when you are admitted to the hospital for a covered hospital stay.  It provides funds that can be used to help pay the out-of-pocket expenses your medical plan may not cover, such as co-insurance, co-pays, and deductibles.  The policy is individually owned so employees may keep it after leaving employment with the college.

If you are a full-time employee, you may obtain coverage for yourself, spouse, children and grandchildren.  Enrollment in this benefit is only available during an open enrollment period.

Premiums for Hospital Indemnity Insurance are taken through payroll deduction.  The entire premium is paid by the employee.
